Umpqua Symphony Association was formed in 1955 as a non-profit organization to promote music in the community. By sponsoring top quality concerts and promoting education, we endeavor to bring a wide variety of music to Douglas County. Because ticket sales alone cannot support the cost of concerts, we depend on our supporters to keep the vision going.
Douglas County Youth Orchestra was formed in the Spring of 1997 with five string players. Currently there are seventy students in the program and two conductors. Beginning, intermediate and advanced classes meet weekly and give several performances throughout the year.
